Michiaki Matsushima

Born in 1972 from Tokyo, Japan.
Graduated with a degree in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University.
He joined NHK Publishing Inc. in 1996. His work had centred around the field of translated books including acquisitions, editing, promotions, etc since 2004 after publishing of Mr. Ryu Murakami’s mail magazine JMM in book form.
In 2014 he became editor-in-chief of the Translated Book Department NHK Publishing Inc,. His work included being in charge of numerous best sellers including “Free: The Future of a Radical Price”, “Share” , “Makers: The New Industrial Revolution”, “Singularity is near”, and the grand winning-award of business book, “ZERO to ONE”, “The ZERO Magical Cost Society”, an annual best book of Amazon.com “The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape Our Future” and others.
Meanwhile, he also became a trail runner by handling the Japanese translation of the world bestselling book “BORN TO RUN: Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen”, now he has been immigrating to Kamakura, Kanagawa and running a mountain in sandals.
He has also presented a lot of new lifestyle and well-being series, titles rooted in physicality as follows; “How exercise will improve the performance of your brain”, “GO WILD Free Your Body and Mind From The Affiliations of Civilization”, “Mindful Work”, “NATURE FIX* Why Nature Makes us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative”.
